We are here for you again over the New Year's period:
December 26, 2026 to January 6, 2027
These days have a special charm in the Merano region: quieter than in summer, festively illuminated, and with many opportunities to combine winter, enjoyment, and relaxation.
The Christmas market in Merano is open throughout our entire winter season and only ends on January 6, 2027.
Festively decorated stalls along the Passer promenade and around the Kurhaus, South Tyrolean specialties, handicrafts, and the special atmosphere of the winter spa town make a visit especially appealing between Christmas and Epiphany.
The turn of the year will also be festive.
Anyone who wishes can combine New Year's Eve with the special atmosphere in Merano and then celebrate the New Year together with us at the Alpenhof.
On December 31st, a festive New Year's Eve menu awaits you with us, with which we will bid farewell to the old year together and toast to 2027.
Especially in winter, the surroundings of Merano reveal a completely different side.
Many walking and hiking trails in the valley remain easily accessible even in winter. Promenades, irrigation channels, and sunny paths around Dorf Tirol invite you to relaxed tours without the summer hustle and bustle.
Those who prefer it warm and relaxed spend a day at the Merano Terme with its indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, and wellness areas – especially pleasant after a winter walk.
And those looking for snow can reach several winter sports areas from Dorf Tirol for a day trip.
Whether skiing, sledding, winter hiking, or simply an excursion into the snowy mountain world – active winter holidaymakers will also find numerous opportunities around Merano.
The peaceful alternative to fast skiing or snowboarding. Recharge with relaxation and strength! If you’re in the mood for especially atmospheric hiking experiences, we’ll gladly show you where to find snow-free trails and where you can stop for steaming drinks and delicious specialties even during the quiet season.
Would you like to hike completely off the beaten path? Then strap on your snowshoes and head out for snowshoe hiking. Fun for young and old is guaranteed with a cheerful sled ride through a snowy winter forest.
Have you ever trudged through the winter night by full moon or torchlight? When the air is crystal clear and the stars shine especially bright? We’d be happy to accompany you, but be careful not to become “moon-addicted.”
Open from
